About
I am warm and compassionate, working collaboratively with my clients using Strengths-based, Solution-focused and Person-Centered evidence-based approaches. I appreciate that for some, seeking help can require taking a big courageous step and that, a one-size-fits-all approach is counterproductive to your bravery. I like to meet my clients where they are and provide a flexible, individualistic, tailored service to empower and support meaningful healing through both options of counselling and therapeutic processes.
I am an experienced group facilitator, having created Hand, Heart & Soul in 2008 in Victoria, running the group for 6 years from my local Community Centre. My early group philosophy was to bring together women from my community to Express, Explore and Experience life. Facilitating a feel-good experience so women would consequently gift those feelings to their families and friends.
After completing further education, I went on to work with victims of serious crime, incorporating counselling, liaising with police and courts, and writing Victim Impact Statements amongst other things. I have worked with victims of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) in multiple settings, including in the court system, working with Intensive Family Support services and in Refuges with women and children escaping DFV.
While my dream and passion to continue Hand, Heart, & Soul has always remained with me, the breadth of my dream has expanded just a little ~ I now have the skillset to assist those who have experienced trauma and grief and loss. What makes my heart sing, is being of service and supporting those struggling with life, either through counselling or facilitating therapeutic processes ~ assisting with the healing journey.
